Job: Dental Hygienist (Part Time)

Participate in the dental treatment of patients by performing all aspects of hygiene including examining teeth and educating patients about proper oral hygiene. Takes and develops radiographs and assists Dentist with patient care in accordance with and as prescribed by the State of Wisconsin.
Works closely with dentists to carry out recommended clinical treatments, such as scaling and polishing to prevent and control periodontal (gum) disease.
Participates in the dental treatment of patients by performing dental prophylaxis, applying topical fluorides, examining teeth, and assisting dentist with procedures, as required.
Makes radiographs and processes, as well as evaluates developed radiographs.
Administers some minor treatments under the supervision of the dentist.
Performs charting of patient’s needs, presenting problem(s), medical and dental health history, tooth charting, and review social history.
Review treatment recommendations with patients and manages patient hygiene regimen.
Takes and records vital signs, prior to rendering dental care.
Assist in the development of prevention programs for patients.
Shares with maintenance and sterilization duties.
Attends office training and meetings along with continuing education classes.
Perform other job related duties, as may be assigned.

Accepts other assignments from the Dental Director, Chief Medical Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer that are appropriate to his/her professional skills and position when required for the good of PCHC.
Follow guidelines set by OSHA, CDC, HRSA, Joint Commission and all other governing agencies.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Must be a graduate from an accredited college or university Dental Hygiene program. Currently licensed to practice in the State of Wisconsin. Previous hygiene experience preferred, with experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center a plus.
